I saw this
outside Grasshopper's school when I showed up for the class Valentine's Day party. There is nothing like wearing short sleeves and seeing happy, smiling (don't daffodils always look like they're smiling? Or is that just me?) daffodils on February 12th. I am so grateful for a taste of spring right now.
I really do love the south, and while I'm clearly a blue state gal [at heart only, since I'm a born and bred southerner] living where the Bible Belt buckles, there are many times that I give thanks for living here. Today is one of those days.
Y'all feel free to remind me about this post when it's 97 degrees with 97% humidity in July and it feels like you're walking through a steam room and you have to apply deet just to get the mail.
For right now, there's a lawn chair with my name on it, a tall glass of sweet tea poured and nary a mosquito in sight...

I love daffodils. I think they are my favorite flower. We won't be seeing them in Maryland for a while, but I expect crocuses in couple of weeks, more or less.
aw, I am in New England so this makes me so jealous! I can't wait for spring!
Ahhhhhhhhh. There's nothing like seeing the first daffodils of the season. Unfortunately, it's going to be a while up here.
Thanks for the bit of sunshine and a bunch of smiling flowers.
